Honestly I’m glad he is ok. A place I used to get my safety gear would “buy back” your burned suit and proudly place them on their wall. Every one had a story under them about the horrors of putting Nomex to use. Its a scary reality of racing... anything can happen.

Upon further googling, the “guy involved with the race” is actually the director of the race series and the same person who set up the gofundme for Stephen. Very small world. And I can only imagine how terrifying that was - sounds like they're expecting a good outcome but it won't be an easy few months.
